IELTS Line Graph Task 1 Writing Tips

How to write task 1 IELTS LINE Graph

Most people who attempt the IELTS test will have to write a report on a line graph at some point. The line graph is a common type of data presentation in IELTS writing task 1, and it is important to know how to write about it effectively.

The first step is to understand the line graph. In general, a line graph will show how something changes over time. This could be something like the population of a city, the level of a river, the price of a commodity, or the number of visitors to a tourist attraction.

Once you understand the line graph, you need to identify the key features. This means looking for things like overall trends, changes over time, and any significant spikes or dips. Make sure you identify at least three key features in your report.

Once you have identified the key features, you need to start writing your report. Remember to include an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. In the introduction, you should briefly describe the line graph and its main features. In the body paragraphs, you should discuss the key features in more detail. In the conclusion, you should summarise the main points of your report.

If you follow these tips, you should be able to write a strong report on a line graph. Remember to practise before your test so that you are familiar with the task and feel confident in your ability to write about line graphs.
